3 Main iPhone Docks

An iPhone charging dock such as the Powermat Charging Dock for Apple iPhone's and Apple iPod's are probably the least costly types of docking stations. A common element with pretty much all iPhone docks in fact is that they charge your phone while they are placed on them. They are usually made from plastic stands that you basically just sit your phone on to charge.

These can be great as it allows for you to stand your phone next to you while you sleep for example, or perhaps at your desk while your working. It can make charging your phone far more practical than only having an option to plug it into a wall outlet.

Another type of docking station to keep an eye out for is a docking station that plays sounds/music. These docks are similar in working order to their less able regular old charging docks mentioned previously, however they have one major advantage, the sound of music via your iPod on your phone!

Plus, you don't just have to settle for the music from your iPod, because a lot of them can play your movies and audio books as well. All this packed into a system that in most cases is small enough to pack up and use as a portable sound system.

The last main type of iPhone dock is one with an alarm clock. As with the above options you place your phone onto the specific piece for charging, play music via your phones iPod, but with the alarm clock option it also means you can play your music through it to wake up to! Literally choose whatever type of music will help you wake up the easiest, and use it. However the speakers on many of these models will generally be fairly average.

Most of the sound docking stations and the alarm clock docking stations come with a remote so that you can change from song to song within your library. Be careful with the remote though because a remote controlled alarm clock could spell serious bad news for all you snoozers out there.
